Navigating Change: VR Simulation for Marine Pollution Control at ICEC 2023

Between November 15 and 17, I participated in the International Conference on Entertainment Computing (ICEC 2023). During the event, I showcased a project developed by a student at the University of Coimbra. This project focused on creating a Virtual Reality (VR) simulation for marine pollution control training.

The VR simulation aims to provide a practical and immersive training experience for marine pollution control. It lets users navigate through a scenarios replicating real-world challenges. The primary goal is to offer a straightforward, training tool for marine pollution issues.

From the Department of Informatics Engineering at the University of Coimbra, the VRLab initiative explores the potential of VR in various applications. This project is a modest yet meaningful attempt to contribute to the intersection of technology and environmental protection.

ICEC 2023 served as a platform to present this project to a wider audience. The feedback received emphasized the importance of practical applications in VR for educational purposes. The conference also provided opportunities for networking and potential collaborations.
